Non-tech type asking about Windows 7 "not responding" in every application
New HP Pavillion dv7 with Windows 7 when I purchased the laptop in late November. Every program/application I want to run will randomly get a "not responding" message in the top bar after the name of the program or file name. This happens in every internet portal I have tried as well as every program - Microsoft Office, TurboTax, Adobe Photoshop, etc. I just want to fix it and other wise love my new laptop. Help. I selected the Windows 7 IT Pro for the forum category only because this it was the closest to my issue. I understand enough about computers to have an basic understanding of what I purchased and what I need it to do. I have not changed any settings.

Hi, This situation is most likely the computer is infected with the viruses so that this happens. Did you have the anti-virus software and make it up to date? Have you made a full scan on your computer? I suggest to use the anti-virus software to fully scan the computer. If the issue still persist, you may boot the computer in Safe Mode for a test. Also, to use the System Restore to restore the computer to a working state is a choice as well. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
